Well, you don't write that everyday..

Soo, I didn't win the competition (I came 5th) :( Where were you, oh followers in my time of need?
Anywayy, I am planning to do best and worst looks of 2010, like the one I did last year. I won't be writing this until my exams are over though :/
Disclaimer.. No, I am not encouraging anybody to dress, act or throw apples around like the young lady in the image. It is simply portraying my current state of discontentment. Althoughhh, let us study the following rhyme:

Zero the hero, first the worst , second the best, third the one with a hairy chest, fourth the king, fifth the queen, sixth the one with a magazine, seventh goes to heaven, eighth the one that likes to read , ninth the one who needs to speed...

You can't argue with The Rhyme.

Salams,

I have been following your blog for a while and actually enjoy it when you blog about actual 'things' other than stating "i can't blog at the moment but will make up for it" etc etc. I still read all your posts as soon as I see it on my dashboard... which is why I was suprised when I read this post about the sisters who blog award.

After reading your post, the first thing I did was to go over to the winner's blog to see if your comment was directly aimed at her.. and guess what? It was! I seriously hoped it wasn't... because as you can see, it is not too difficult to see if you were actually implying the winner's blog.

The blogger won because the readers selected her. There were many other blogs that also deserved to win, but they didn't, so no need to belittle another's blog. You are not actual competitors... With your comment you are actually being a little rude to those who supported the winner.

I'm sorry if you didn't expect such a comment. You do not need to publish this comment at all, but I seriously think that what you wrote is offensive, and if it were me in her place, I would be hurt.

Please forgive me if I have said/written anything to offend you, but that is not my intention. I just feel we are sometimes thoughtless about what we say. Having control over our own blog and the freedom to say whatever we feel like does not mean that we (keeping in mind that we are Muslim) can write anything we want -- especially if this means hurting another's feelings.

Wassalaam

lol, i think there was a lot of self-voting going on with some people because in other catagories some blogs won that had 200 votes and yet only had 75 suscribed readers to their actual blog. it just didnt add up.

LOL okay Queen! :P

The winner had 223 votes, yet only has 59 readers on her blog?!

And you have 978 readers!!!

Sounds suspicious to me. Not a fair vote at all when a blog with 59 readers beats a blog with close to 1000 readers in basically a popularity contest.

Do you even win anything? I couldn't find anything regarding prizes on the website.

edibe @ edbdesigns: Oh gosh, I hope you don't hate me now lol because I love your blog :D. Ok, I guess it is a little harsh what I said but I was only joking. I guess I'm a sore loser hahah! Maybe I'll remove the comment. About the 'posting about things' - well I can't help it if I have exams.

Anon and Ange: I know!!!

Anyni: Aw thank you so much :D

Salaams Zaenab,

I'm sorry if you felt like my winning the vote was unfair, I was surprised too at the number of votes I got. I did put it up on my status of facebook and twitter as a lot of my friends who aren't subscribers to the blog follow my blog posts through fb/ twitter as I put up a link on both social networking pages every time I update. I know no one needs to believe me, but I'd also like to share that I gave my vote to another fashion blog (not mine) which was listed. I still don't have that many subscribers as I am a newbie to blogging and I'm sorry if anyone felt like a newbie was trying to steal the thunder from the other blogs because I would never want do that, actually it was all these lovely hijab blogs that inspired me to start my own blog. Masha Allah you sisters are doing a great job. :)

Salaams and much love,
Shums
